ItWhether you are feeling neck pain and discomfort due to common causes such as sleeping wring or due to whiplash that you experienced from playing sports, a car accident, or even just knocking your head around too hard at a concert, you may be finding it hard to do even the simplest movements with your head.
Neck pain can cause a limited range of motion, stiffness, and even a sharp pinch when you move to swivel your head too quickly. While many people will immediately turn to an over-the-counter drug to alleviate this pain, those can be hard on your liver and kidneys in the long run, and there are better ways to treat neck pain.
At HiDow International, we’re all too familiar with this kind of chronic neck pain. Still, luckily our line of TENS Therapy Units is the perfect remedy to help alleviate muscle pain. Read on to find out how you can effectively use TENS to treat neck pain without
THE BENEFITS OF TENS THERAPY FOR NECK PAIN
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is an alternative therapy that is used to assist in the treatment of several muscular pain issues such as neck pain, lower back pain, groin, and pain in the extremities.
TENS has been around for decades and continues to be revolutionized by HiDow as we improve and innovate TENS therapy devices to include a line of wireless and multichannel devices. Uses low-voltage electrical pulses to stimulate the same endorphin response provided by painkillers and medication by interrupting pain signals before they reach the brain.
TENS UNIT PLACEMENT FOR NECK PAIN
So how do you use a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation device to treat neck pain?
The key to treating neck pain with a TENS device is to place the electrodes. Any time you are using a TENS device, you want to be very cautious that you place the electrode pads carefully on your body. A hard-fast rule about using TENS devices is that you never want to place the electrodes on the bone, so look for a muscular or fleshy place to attach them.
When placing the electrodes, you will want to place the electrodes on the back of your neck.
Note: DO NOT place electrodes on the side of your neck, throat, or head, as this can cause you harm.
Additionally, you can place electrodes along the top of your shoulders, either above or below the shoulder blades.
With that, your electrodes should be in the right place to target stubborn neck pain! For more TENS therapy tips, visit the HiDow International blog at News.HiDow.Com!
