We love a good night’s sleep! But sometimes, waking up on the wrong side of the bed can cause you to feel like you didn’t get enough rest— leaving you feeling sore and uncomfortable. Taking preventive measures to prevent feeling achy
When you wake up with aches and pains, the most likely culprits are dehydration, poor eating habits, and insufficient sleep. All of these can be taken care of proactively instead of reactively.
That’s because sleep is your body’s natural medicine. Getting plenty of sleep, and the right kind of sleep, can reduce inflammation by increasing the production of anti-inflammatory proteins.
Hydrate
While we sleep, it is very common that we lose water (mostly through sweat). Because of this, it is not uncommon to wake up feeling dehydrated. Unfortunately, dehydration can cause stiff, sore, and achy joints and muscles since our tissues will lack sufficient water to function properly.
Make sure you drink plenty of water at night. You may even want to leave a glass of water next to your bed. If you wake up sore and achy, you will also want to have a glass of water in the morning. Preferably before your cup of coffee!
Stretch
One of the reasons that we wake up feeling aches and pains has to do with the fact that our muscles contract and tighten overnight due to inactivity. This can cause us to wake up feeling sore.
The best way to handle this is to go through your morning stretching routine.
Take a few minutes each morning to do full-body stretches from your neck to your toes!

Finally, if your aches and pains persist despite getting plenty of rest, hydrating, and stretching, you may suffer from chronic muscle pain.
