Valentine’s Day Couples’ Workout

Valentine’s Day Couples' Workout

This Valentine’s Day, make it your goal to start hitting the gym with your significant other. Working out together is like hitting two birds with one stone. It is not just a fun activity where you can spend time together but also an opportunity to get closer to that fit body you’ve been dreaming of. That’s the perfect relationship goal for couples, isn’t it?

How Can Couples Workout on Valentine’s Day

More and more fit couples are taking gym dates. They don’t mind trading the movies for an hour of an intense and fast-paced workout session. After all, the gym can still be a place to connect and spend time with your significant other, right? If you don’t remember when was the last time you trained with your other half, take Valentine’s Day as the perfect opportunity to work out together. Surely, it will leave you both feeling great! Here are some workouts we at HiDow International recommend for all couples this Valentine’s Day.

1. Squats

A couple of workouts may not be the best type of regular training for those serious about bodybuilding, as it may hinder your regular training routine. But for sure, your significant other will appreciate it if you do squats with her because most ladies love leg training in general! Do 3 sets of 12 reps and keep the intensity high by quickly changing the weights between sets. For the gentlemen, pick a rack height that suits them before starting your set. This is a great way to shape up your booty!

2. Partner-assisted pull-ups

Take advantage of the assistance of your committed, helpful training partner with you. Even though you’re already good at this exercise, you can train past failure by having your partner push up on your legs once you’re fatigued. A lot of ladies tend to stick to the assisted pull-up machine. However, it’s not as beneficial as the real thing. So let this be a chance for her to learn the actual movement and reap some added benefits. Do 3 sets of 12 reps.

3. Incline bench press

There are two reasons why this exercise is a good fit for Valentine’s workout: first, even though ladies are not a fan of building their lower pecs, a shapely upper chest is a sure physique booster; second, it’s a great opportunity for guys to show off. You know you want to look strong and tough in front of your lady! So hit up some heavier weight and lower reps to impress. Ladies do 3 sets of 8-12 reps, while gentlemen do 3-4 sets of 5-8 reps.

4. Arms and delts circuit

This includes dumbbell curls, triceps push-downs, and face pulls. For this last circuit, set up the high pulley at a cable station with a rope attachment for both push-downs and face pulls. Bring over two sets of dumbbells for each of you, too. Do 15 curls, straight into 15 pushdowns, straight into 15 face pulls, and then have your partner do the same while you rest. Once you’ve done 4 circuits in total per person, you’re done!

The Bottom Line

There’s nothing wrong with spending Valentine’s Day together over fancy dinner dates. As long as you don’t forget about your health and wellness, you should enjoy your time together as a couple however you want to. But remember, the gym is also never a bad place to build a deeper relationship with your partner!
